Caring for Your Plants When You're on Holiday

Here at Plant Shop, we are taking a short break for our summer holidays! We’re looking forward to enjoying the sunny weather and coming back refreshed and excited for the next season.

When we were preparing to close our Stockport shop for the week, we took special care to check over the plants in the shop, and thought that the precautions we took might be helpful to those of you who will be going on holiday as well.

We have put together some tips for what you can prepare before your travels. The main goal is to keep your plants from drying out too much, or, if you travel a lot, to invest in drought-tolerant plants that will survive (and even thrive!) with infrequent watering and care.

In-store and online, we currently have two different kinds of self-watering pots! These pots have space in the bottom to store water. Simply sit a length of string or cloth into the pool of water, then connect the other end to the top soil of your plant. This lets your plant have access to the water whenever it needs it, where it will naturally absorb it without being sat in water for too long.

We are closed:

Thursday 11th - Thursday 18th August

We will be back to our regular opening hours from Friday 19th onwards!

We hope you found these tips helpful & we look forward to seeing you soon!
